Our Vision

We believe it is vital that young people learn from business owners and other professionals, so our program is built on engaging community volunteers to INVEST in the city’s future workforce.

By linking the world of work with El Paso Schools, we INVOLVE volunteers in preparing the leaders of the future to deliver high-quality, state-certified lesson plans and share real-life experiences with students.

The result: our “ambassadors” INSPIRE and leave a lasting impact on young El Pasoans.

01 Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

02 Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

03 JA’s unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our more than 213,000 classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.

It has never been clearer that more informed financial choices— whether deciding how to manage a few dollars or yen, or millions of euros or dinars—will improve the global economy and reduce the risk of a world financial crisis.
Students are introduced to the elements of successful business start-ups, myths and facts about entrepreneurship, and early product development.
With the ever growing competitive global economy and the growing gap of youth prepared for the workforce or be taught at a younger age.

What our volunteers say

“You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.” – Winston Churchill

"The most rewarding aspect of serving as a Junior Achievement board member has been my experience of teaching in the class room providing students from all segments of the community the opportunity to realize how to achieve their professional goals.” David Ortwein, Vice President, Capital Bank
"JA was such a rewarding experience for me. It pushed me to do something I’d never done before nor did I think I could do. I had a ton of fun with the kids and loved that I had the ability to make a life changing positive impact on them. It made me even more appreciative of this great company that encourages their associates to help their community. I ABSOLUTELY would do it again!!!" Elida Hernandez, ADP
“I have truly enjoyed doing these presentations and have bonded with both students and teachers so much in this short amount of time!  They are always excited when I come in and participate the whole time I am there.  Thank you JA for this wonderful opportunity for all!” Julieta E. Cordero, Analyst, Regulatory Filing, El Paso Electric
